What is eRallycross?
eRallycross is a car project of Turku University of Applied Sciences, where our students build an electric rallycross car in partnership with Valmet Automotive.

From a stock car to an electric racecar
The project has started in late 2017 and is expected to be completed in 2019. The car itself is a Mercedes-Benz A -series, built in Uusikaupunki, Finland by Valmet Automotive Group. The car is fully disassembled and the old parts are properly recycled. The students of Turku AMK plan, create and build a full-blooded rallycrosscar with electricmotor powertrain.

eRallycross – learning and research platform from engineering viewpoint
-Design environment for deep learning of digital product process and product data management (CAD, CAM, PLM, …)
-Simulation and computational modelling of structures, power train, charging of batteries, car dynamics, and aerodynamics
-Sensors and monitoring, IoT
-Battery technology
-Field endurance tests of the power trains and battery systems
